I have tons of programs installed on my notebook and one of them seems to freeze my computer every once in a while. Freezing means that it stops reacting for a few seconds u to some minutes but then continues normally. During these freezes the HDD led lights up. Is there any way to find out which program it is? I have tested it with a raw Vista 32bit business installation and of course it doesn’t happen there.

I’m trying to figure out a problem that I am having on a machine that is running Vista Home Premium (SP1).  The user gets a Blue Screen on this machine fairly often (sometimes 3 in a week and then nothing for a couple of weeks) and I can’t seem to pinpoint the problem.  Today, I got the following error:

Why does my screen blink once on startup?
I made the mistake of using Dell tech support for a Bluetooth problem. Story for another day, and problem persists…I have an inspiron 1420 with vista home premium sp1. 4gb ram. It loads fast and from the start (about a week) "clean" (i.e. no blinking screen).

Vista Constant Freeze on NEW PC
When I start it, it will go to the desktop, everything will run fine, then suddenly nothing can be clicked, and soon the cursor also freezes. No chance to Ctrl+Alt+Dlt or bring up task manager. This freeze was initially happening after about 30 seconds, but after taking out one stick of RAM it lasts as long as 5 minutes before freezing (may be coincidence). This started happening before I changed any settings, the PC is still as new.

My screen is freezing and then flickering during game play
My hubby has the Acer 6920G laptop and has the problem of the screen freezing and then flickering during game play on it. Acer have said this is a gaming machine which an NVidia graphic card but it’s a chip. How do we get driver updates for the NVidia chip? NVidia says the chips cannot be updated!
